Guide to Environmental Investigations of Childhood Lead Poisoning Cases
This guide is intended for agencies that conduct investigations into cases of childhood lead poisoning, specifically: the Health and Environment Services of the Departmental Directorates of Health and Social Affairs and the Municipal Health and Hygiene Services. It brings together the scientific and technical knowledge necessary to carry out these investigations. It provides a roadmap on: - how to prioritize the search for sources of lead that may explain the poisoning, - defining the scope of this search, - the rationale for terminating the investigation. It provides practical tools: an investigation questionnaire, sample collection forms, and summary documents. (R.A.)
