Sexual Medicine and the Management of Sexual Violence.

Sexual medicine is an essential component of the therapeutic management of sexual violence. It has become an indispensable part of secondary and tertiary prevention efforts against such violence. It fosters dialogue with patients and encourages them to speak openly about sexuality or its development within these contexts of violence. By creating a new space for individualized care, its objectives are the diagnosis, investigation, and therapeutic management of sexual disorders, complementing other forms of care—both psychological and physical.
