Internet Use and Perceptions of Sexuality Among Young People: What Is the Connection?

Internet and social media use has grown significantly among 13- to 25-year-olds over the past decade. Is this new way of accessing information and interacting changing young people’s perceptions of sexuality as well as their behaviors? Virginie De Luca Barrusse shows that, contrary to many common assumptions, this is generally not the case. A large-scale study is needed to demonstrate the potential impact of the Internet and social media on young people’s sexuality.
