Epidemiology of Measles in France. Surveillance data as of February 12, 2018.

Interrupting the endemic circulation of measles is one of the WHO’s objectives for the European Region. In France, a national elimination plan was implemented in 2005, setting, among other things, a target of 95% vaccination coverage by age 2 and an annual incidence of less than 0.1 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The current recommendation for measles vaccination (using a trivalent measles-mumps-rubella vaccine) is the administration of two doses of the vaccine starting at 12 months of age for anyone born since 1980. In 2017, France remains a country where measles is endemic.
