Measles Vaccination Coverage Among Medical Students at the University of Aix-Marseille’s School of Pharmacy. Identifying Reasons for Vaccination and Non-Vaccination Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, April 2013

Measles is a highly contagious disease that carries a risk of serious complications. Studies have shown that healthcare workers are at a higher risk of contracting measles than the general population. Furthermore, unvaccinated individuals are at greater risk of transmitting the disease to their patients, including children, pregnant women, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals. Measles vaccination is particularly recommended for healthcare professionals due to the disease’s high contagiousness, the complications and long-term effects it causes, as well as the absenteeism and administrative costs it generates.
