In Corsica in 2015, the age-standardized suicide rate was 9.5 per 100,000 inhabitants, lower than the national rate.
In 2015, the age-standardized suicide rate among men was higher than among women (14.0 vs. 5.7 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants). Since 2000, a downward trend in annual rates among men, combined with stability among women, has led to a narrowing of the gap between men and women.
PMSI: Hospitalizations for Suicide Attempts Among Those Aged 10 and Older
In 2017 in Corsica, the standardized hospitalization rate for suicide attempts stood at 75.1 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, lower than the national rate (148.0 per 100,000 inhabitants).
In 2017, the rate among women was higher than among men (90.2 vs. 59.7 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants). Since 2008, a downward trend has been observed among both men and women.

On average, in 2017 in Corsica, 1.2 visits per day and nearly 5 suicide attempts per 1,000 emergency room visits for all causes were recorded.
In 2017, women accounted for the majority of emergency room visits due to suicide attempts. The 25–44 age group was the most represented among men, while among women, it was the 45–64 age group.
In 2017, 3.1% of people who attempted suicide reattempted within 6 months.
