Key Points

Emergency department visit data from the Oscour® network

  • From January to November 2021, we observed relative stability in indicators among adults compared to previous years.

  • However, over the same period, we observed a decline in several mental health indicators among children compared to previous years.

Data on medical procedures from SOS Médecins

  • From January to November 2021, procedures for anxiety, depressive states, and behavioral disorders were relatively lower compared to 2020 but higher or stable compared to 2019.

Analysis of the last two months (October–November)

  • Among adults, the monthly number of emergency room visits for most indicators in October–November 2021 was lower than in the previous two months, with the exception of suicidal ideation, which is on the rise.

  • In contrast, among children, the monthly number of emergency room visits for most indicators in October–November 2021 was higher than in the previous two months, with the exception of anxiety disorders, which decreased.

  • The monthly number of cases for anxiety and behavioral disorders in October–November 2021 is lower than that observed in the previous two months, while cases for depressive states are slightly increasing.
