Key Points

Oscour® network emergency department visit indicators:

  • Among adults (18 years or older):

    • in January–February 2022:

      • the number of visits for mental health issues and the proportion of such visits relative to total emergency department visits were generally similar to those in 2021 and to the respective averages for the years 2018 through 2020;

    • in 2021:

      • the number of visits for mental health issues and the proportion of activity relative to total visits were broadly similar to the respective averages for the years 2018 to 2020;

  • Among children (under 18):

    • in January–February 2022:

      • number of emergency department visits generally similar to that of 2021 and to the average number of visits from 2018 to 2020;

      • the proportion of cases was lower than in 2021 but similar to the average for the years 2018–2020;

    • in 2021:

      • the number of visits was generally similar to the average from 2018 to 2020;

      • activity levels in January–February were higher than the average for 2018–2020;

  • Other mental health monitoring indicators from the Oscour® network show no significant changes.
