COVID-19: Situation Remains Concerning in Hospitals and Long-Term Care Facilities

  • Regional positivity rates are declining, but rising in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Alpes-Maritimes departments.

  • Positivity rates have stabilized across all age groups at the regional level, including among those over 80; sharp increase in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.

  • Increase in emergency room visits and decrease in SOS Médecins consultations for suspected COVID-19.

  • Sharp rise in hospital indicators across the region (hospitalizations, intensive care admissions, and mortality).

  • Increase in the number of reported outbreaks in social and medical-social facilities (ESMS) and in the number of residents and staff affected.

  • High number of reported clusters, particularly in workplaces and ESMS, despite underreporting.

Winter epidemics

  • Bronchiolitis: low activity

  • Influenza: low activity

  • Gastroenteritis: low activity

Chikungunya, dengue, Zika

Since the start of surveillance, 100 confirmed cases of dengue fever—imported mainly from the French departments in the Americas—and 10 locally acquired cases have been reported. In addition, one case of chikungunya imported from Cambodia has been reported.
