Epidemiological surveillance in Corsica. Update as of February 3, 2021.
Key Points
COVID-19
Regional epidemic monitoring indicators have stabilized:
Regional incidence rate stable;
regional testing rate on the rise;
Regional positivity rate stable;
Low COVID-19-related activity at the SOS Médecins association;
Low COVID-19-related activity in emergency departments;
Hospitalizations across all departments are increasing, while hospitalizations in intensive care or continuous care units remain stable;
2 new clusters in S04.
The regional incidence rate, at 107 per 100,000 inhabitants, is stable but still masks a difference between the island’s two departments. It
remains above the alert threshold of 50 per 100,000 inhabitants. The testing rate is increasing (4,509 per 100,000 inhabitants). The positivity rate is stable (2.6%). The difference between the departments is reflected in hospitalizations, with stabilization or even a decline in Southern Corsica, and a sharp increase in Northern Corsica, except in intensive care units.
