Key Points

• Vaccination coverage is relatively high among infants affected by the expansion of mandatory vaccination, but still falls short of the 95% target:

  • 93% for the vaccine against diphtheria, tetanus, polio, pertussis, Haemophilus influenzae type b, and hepatitis B at 21 months of age;

  • 93% for the pneumococcal vaccine at 21 months of age;

  • 92% for the meningococcal C vaccine at 21 months of age;

  • 88% by the second dose of the measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine at 33 months of age.

• Vaccination coverage of at least one dose at 8 months against meningococcal B (recommended since June 2022) is 46%.

• Increase in vaccination coverage among children and adolescents not subject to mandatory vaccination:

  • significant increase between 2015 and 2022 for the meningococcal C vaccine in children over 2 years of age, but coverage remains insufficient to achieve herd immunity that would protect unvaccinated individuals;

  • significant increase between 2015 (22%) and 2022 (60%) for the HPV vaccine among 15-year-old girls (first dose), but vaccination coverage remains insufficient to interrupt the circulation of the virus;

  • Low vaccination coverage against HPV infections among 15-year-old boys (18%—first dose).

• Insufficient influenza vaccination coverage among individuals with risk factors for influenza.

• Increased overall vaccination uptake among 18- to 75-year-olds in the Pays de la Loire region since 2016 (72% versus 83% in 2021).
