Analysis of surveillance indicators shows a decline in COVID-19-related health activity in recent weeks in the Pays de la Loire region.
What’s new in this update for the region?
In Week 19 (May 4–10), the positive trend in COVID-19 indicators continued compared to previous weeks
:- SOS Médecins medical interventions for suspected COVID-19 remained stable compared to the previous two weeks;
- a continued decrease in emergency department visits for suspected COVID-19;
- a continued decrease in the positivity rate of tests conducted by hospital and private laboratories;
- a continued decrease in new hospitalizations and new admissions to intensive care units for COVID-19 patients.
No significant excess mortality from all causes and across all age groups was observed in the region or at the departmental level during Week 18 (April 27 to May 3).
What are the public health implications in the region?
To continue the fight against the spread of the COVID-19 virus, all healthcare stakeholders (private practitioners, SOS Médecins associations, hospitals, laboratories, etc.) remain mobilized alongside the Pays de la Loire Regional Health Agency and Santé publique France.
