A seasonal bronchiolitis outbreak is active in Réunion during week 19 of 2021 (April 10 to May 16), with an increase in cases.

  • In week 19 of 2021, among children under 2 years of age:

    • 66 emergency department visits for bronchiolitis, representing 19% of total activity

    • 32 visits for bronchiolitis were followed by hospitalization, representing 47% of these visits

    • 4 out of 10 hospitalizations were for bronchiolitis

  • Increase in the number of RSV cases detected at the university hospital
