Epidemiological Situation

In Mayotte, bronchiolitis surveillance relies on activity data from the emergency department at the Mayotte Hospital Center and from the network of sentinel physicians.

Data from these partners have revealed a seasonal resurgence of bronchiolitis since mid-December 2016. Various indicators (number of emergency department visits and number of consultations for bronchiolitis) show that transmission is still ongoing in the department.

In this context, it is important to remind the public of hygiene measures to limit the spread of this illness.
