Oscour® network emergency department visit indicators:

  • All mental health disorders in adults: this indicator remained stable in 2023, though slightly lower than during the 2019–2021 period

  • All mental health disorders in children: the usual decline in this indicator during the May–August 2023 period, but remaining at a level slightly higher than the 2019–2021 period

  • Suicidal acts among those aged 11 and older: relative stability of the indicator throughout the year, at a level comparable to the 2019–2021 period

  • Suicidal ideation among those aged 11 and older: a decline in activity since early 2023, but remaining at a level significantly higher than during the 2019–2021 period

  • Mood disorders among those aged 11 and older: relative stability of the indicator over the course of the year, remaining at a level slightly higher than during the 2019–2021 period

  • Anxiety disorders among those aged 11 and older: relative stability of the indicator over the course of the year, at a lower level than during the 2019–2021 period

Overall, in Réunion during the first half of 2023, the mental health indicators analyzed are stable and comparable to the 2019–2021 period and the year 2022. However, it is observed that emergency room visits and the proportion of emergency room activity due to suicidal ideation, despite their downward trends during the first half of the year, remain significantly higher than in previous periods.
