Epidemiological Situation

Over the past 4 weeks (weeks 36 through 39 of 2018), the number of flu-like illness visits to sentinel network physicians and emergency departments at the island’s four hospitals exceeded the epidemic threshold. During this period, 15 severe cases were reported, representing 48% of the total severe cases (n=31) reported since January 1, 2018. Since the start of the seasonal flu epidemic, all positive flu test results have been for influenza A (non-H1N1).The flu epidemic is still ongoing in Réunion.
