Key Points

Chikungunya

  • Since August 23, 2024, 783 cases of chikungunya have been reported on the island, including 671 in 2025.

  • The outbreak continues, with 204 cases detected in S05. Cases are now being reported in 19 municipalities.

  • Reunion remains in the midst of a chikungunya epidemic.

Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI)

  • For influenza, bronchiolitis, and COVID-19, health indicators remain at baseline levels with limited health impact.

Gastroenteritis

  • Health indicators remain at baseline levels.

Leptospirosis

  • The first cases of 2025 have been reported to the CVAGS (fewer than 5 cases).

  • An informational webinar is scheduled for February 27.
