Key Points

Influenza

  • After a decline in influenza surveillance indicators over several weeks and health indicators remaining below epidemic thresholds during the past three weeks, the indicators are rising again, with epidemic thresholds exceeded in Week 35.

  • This crossing of the thresholds remains to be confirmed in Week 36 for a possible resurgence of the flu epidemic.

Bronchiolitis

  • Stable number of emergency department visits due to bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age.

  • Only one RSV sample was identified in week 35 through virological surveillance.

Gastroenteritis

  • In Week 35, emergency department visits due to gastroenteritis continued to rise following the sharp increase observed in Week 34.

COVID-19

  • The number of emergency department visits due to COVID-19 remained low, with stable numbers in Week 35 compared to the previous week (7 visits in Week 35 versus 9 in Week 34).

  • The number of hospitalizations following an emergency department visit due to COVID-19 was also low, with 2 hospitalizations in Week 35 versus zero hospitalizations in Week 34.
