Bronchiolitis

  • Emergency room visits due to bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age were on the rise, with 40 visits in Week 40 compared to 35 in Week 39.

Gastroenteritis

  • Indicators are declining but remain at a high level. Réunion remains in the midst of a gastroenteritis outbreak.

COVID-19

  • The number of emergency department visits due to COVID-19 remained low, with visits in Week 40 remaining stable compared to the previous week (6 visits in Week 40 vs. 8 in Week 39)

  • The number of hospitalizations following an emergency room visit due to COVID-19 was also low, with only 4 hospitalizations in Week 40 versus 5 in Week 39
