The level of viral circulation continued to decline in Week 25, with an incidence rate of 25 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (vs. 41 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 24). The TP decreased to 17% in Week 25 (vs. 23% in Week 24), as did testing activity, with the testing rate dropping from 181 tests per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 24 to 144 tests per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 25.

Influenza
In Week 25, a further increase in emergency department visits was observed (+24%, with 31 visits in Week 25 vs. 25 in Week 24). Hospitalizations remain stable and limited, with 2 hospitalizations in Week 25. No patients were admitted to the ICU due to influenza. Individuals under 15 years of age are the most affected (61% of emergency department visits).
Virological surveillance showed that influenza type B was the predominant circulating virus, with a 13% increase in the positivity rate.
Given the epidemiological and virological data, Réunion is entering a flu epidemic, with a limited health impact at this stage.
