COVID-19
COVID-19 viral circulation is on the rise across the region.
The positivity rate (PR) for COVID-19 rose from 9% to 33% between Week 43 and Week 48. This increase affects all age groups. However, a decrease in the PR was observed among those under 15 years of age between Week 47 and Week 48.
In emergency departments, COVID-19-related visits have been steadily rising and have accelerated over the past four weeks. In Week 48, 75 visits were recorded compared to 50 in Week 47, representing a 50% increase. Hospitalizations following an emergency department visit increased moderately, with 24 hospitalizations in Week 48 compared to 21 in Week 47.

At the start of the southern hemisphere summer, the virus remains very limited and is essentially confined to the southern part of the island.
