Emergency department visits due to bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age were decreasing, with 8 visits in Week 33 compared to 14 in Week 32.
The number of new hospitalizations also decreased in S33, with 3 hospitalizations compared to 5 in S32.
The proportion of emergency department visits for bronchiolitis among all visits by children under 2 years of age was 3.8% in Week 33 compared to 6.3% in Week 32.
Gastroenteritis
In Week 33, the number of emergency department visits for gastroenteritis across all age groups was slightly lower, with 54 visits compared to 58 the previous week. The number of hospitalizations was lower, with 6 hospitalizations in Week 33 versus 11 the previous week.
Emergency department visits due to gastroenteritis among children under 5 years of age were stable (n=20) compared to the previous week (n=23). Hospitalizations following emergency department visits were also stable in Week 33, with 3 hospitalizations compared to 4 in Week 32.
COVID-19
The number of emergency department visits due to COVID-19 remained stable at a very low level in Week 33, with 3 visits, the same as in Week 32. Only one hospitalization following an emergency department visit was recorded in Week 33, the same as in Week 32.
