Key Points

Chikungunya

  • Four new cases were reported in S46, bringing the total to 20 cases detected on the island since August 23, 2024. Two outbreaks are currently active: one in the West (L’Ermitage) and one in the South (Etang Salé les Hauts). The first outbreak identified in 2024 (Les Aigrettes outbreak) is now considered to have ended, as the onset date of symptoms for the last known case was more than 45 days ago. In addition, two isolated cases have also been detected, one in the west and one in the south. The most recent confirmed case had an onset date of November 17, 2024.

Acute respiratory infection

  • The flu has moved into the post-epidemic phase. There has been a sharp increase in emergency room visits due to bronchiolitis in children under two years of age, and an increase in the circulation of RSV.

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Increase in emergency room visits and hospitalizations, particularly among children under 5 years of age.
