Epidemiological Situation

No new cases have been identified in the municipality of Le Tampon (the first identified outbreak). An outbreak of local transmission has been identified in the municipality of Etang Salé. Moderate viral transmission has been actively ongoing on the island since February, and two distinct serotypes have been identified to date. The outbreak remains very limited for the time being and affects a restricted geographic area. Nevertheless, viral circulation could intensify in the coming weeks. Alert Level 2A remains in effect: "Identification of a cluster of local cases."
