Key Points

  • Since August 23, 2024, 5,184 cases of chikungunya have been reported on the island, including 5,041 in 2025. The outbreak continues to spread, with nearly 1,800 cases detected in S09. The southern municipalities, including Le Tampon, continue to report the highest number of cases. However, the number of cases is also rising in St Leu, St Paul, St Denis, and Ste Marie.

  • Since the beginning of the year, the spread of dengue fever has remained limited.
