End of the 2020–2021 season in October, with higher viral circulation than in previous years during the inter-epidemic phase
Signs of a decline, but circulation levels remain high:
39 emergency room visits recorded in Week 12
Sharp decline in the number of biologically confirmed RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) cases compared to Week 10 (19 in Week 12 vs. 33 in Week 10)
Increase in the proportion of bronchiolitis cases among the island’s sentinel physicians (1.9% in Week 12 vs. 1.0% in Week 11).
The current epidemic is longer in duration and involves a higher number of cases than previous epidemics.
