From May 1 to November 30 each year, Santé publique France coordinates, in conjunction with the relevant Regional Health Agencies (ARS), enhanced seasonal surveillance of chikungunya, dengue, and Zika in metropolitan departments colonized by the vector mosquito, Aedes albopictus.
In Occitanie, since May 1, 2020, 79 imported cases of dengue have been confirmed. No cases of chikungunya or Zika have been identified.

Nationwide, from May 1 to October 16, 2020, the following were confirmed:

  • 545 imported cases of dengue (of which 64% had visited Martinique and 17% Guadeloupe)

  • 5 imported cases of chikungunya

  • 1 imported case of Zika.

A locally acquired case of dengue fever in a resident of Saône-et-Loire was recently identified, with probable exposure in Occitanie.
