The Midi-Pyrénées Regional Health Agency (ARS) and the Institute for Health Surveillance (InVS) organized the 3rd Midi-Pyrénées Regional Health Surveillance Day (JRVS) on Tuesday, June 17, 2014. Building on the previous JRVS in 2012, the theme of this year’s event was “Healthcare Professionals: All Stakeholders in Public Health Surveillance,” and its objective was to promote the involvement of healthcare professionals in order to improve regional public health surveillance and alert systems. The preparation of this event was entrusted to an organizing committee led by the Department of Surveillance, Alert, Management of Health Emergencies, and Public Health Measures (DAUSPS) of the Midi-Pyrénées Regional Health Agency (ARS), in collaboration with the Regional Unit of the Institute for Public Health Surveillance (InVS) (Cire) in Midi-Pyrénées.The scientific content of this event was defined by a scientific committee led by the Midi-Pyrénées Cire and composed of representatives from the ARS, the Regional Union of Healthcare Professionals (URPS) for Private Practitioners, the URPS for Biologists, the Midi-Pyrénées Regional Emergency Observatory (ORUMIP), the Toulouse University Hospital (CAPTV, virology laboratory, infectious and tropical diseases department), the Midi-Pyrénées Regional Agency for the Control of Nosocomial Infections (ARLIN), and a coordinating physician in a long-term care facility.
