International Symposium on Salmonella and Salmonellosis

Next May (from the 27th to the 29th), the next International Symposium on Salmonella and Salmonellosis will be held in Saint-Malo. Since its first edition in 1992, this symposium has been a great success and attracts numerous scientists from around the world. It is organized in partnership with ANSES, InVS, INRA, the Pasteur Institute, ISPAIA, and ZOOPOLE Développement. Each edition brings together scientists and technicians interested in the issue of Salmonella in the fields of animal health and public health. Seven sessions are on the program for this 6th edition: Genomics and Applications, Antimicrobial Resistance, Interactions between Hosts and Bacteria, Immune Response and Host Genetic Resistance, Detection, Identification, and Quantification, Ecology and Animal Epidemiology, Epidemiology and Public Health, and Risk Assessment and Control.

The conference is organized into sessions featuring oral presentations and posters, allowing participants to exchange views on these various topics. Based on previous editions, more than 350 people from around the world (representing over 40 countries in 2010) will gather for three days in Saint-Malo. For each plenary session, a summary will present the current state of knowledge on the session’s theme. A significant portion of the sessions will be dedicated to selected oral presentations (more than 50), and posters will also be displayed throughout the three-day conference.
