It should be noted that during previous epidemics, the hospitalization rate was approximately 40%. However, it varied significantly by age: the younger the children, the more frequent hospitalization following a visit to the emergency department (ranging from 83% among infants under 28 days old to 11% among those aged 12–24 months). If the epidemic follows a similar pattern to that of the past two years, the peak could occur during the Christmas holidays, in calendar week 2014-52 or calendar week 2015-01.
