Occitanie Public Health Bulletin. April 2018.
Key Points
Vaccine-preventable diseases remain prevalent in France, as evidenced by the resurgence of the measles epidemic in 2018
Vaccination coverage has improved in recent years in France and in Occitanie, particularly for hepatitis B.
However, vaccination coverage remains far too low to prevent the spread of certain diseases in Occitanie (particularly measles and meningitis C), and there are disparities between departments.
A mandatory vaccination requirement since January 1, 2018, to improve vaccination coverage: the expansion to 11 vaccines amounts to 10 injections (including combination vaccines) for children, spread over 2 years according to the vaccination schedule. More than 70% of children were already receiving these 10 injections during their first 2 years of life.
