Highlights from the Midi-Pyrénées Regional Meteorological Office - Heat Wave in Midi-Pyrénées

A heat wave begins this Friday, August 17, in southwestern France. Five departments in Midi-Pyrénées have been placed on the “Warning and Action” (MIGA) level of the heat wave plan: Haute-Garonne, Gers, Lot, Tarn, and Tarn-et-Garonne.On Saturday, August 18, the heat will intensify slightly further. Minimum temperatures will be high, generally ranging from 19 to 22 degrees. Maximum temperatures will rise another 1 to 3 degrees, reaching 37 to 40 degrees and locally 41 degrees, except near mountainous areas. On Sunday, minimum temperatures will remain high, while maximum temperatures will drop by 1 to 3 degrees, though they will still remain at a high level. During this period, the Cire will provide a daily analysis of heat-related health indicators based on data from emergency services and the SAMU. A specific report presenting this data will be issued every day.
