Health Surveillance in Languedoc-Roussillon. Epidemiological Update as of June 28, 2012

Key Points:

  • Hospital Activity: Indicators have remained relatively stable over the past 7 days. Exceedances of departmental thresholds for total first-time admissions were observed in several departments in the region over the past weekend, while other indicators remained below the statistical thresholds defined by geographic area.

  • Summer surveillance: The monitored indicators are relatively stable and equivalent to or lower than those observed in previous seasons.

  • Vector-borne Disease SurveillanceA total of 48 reports of suspected chikungunya/dengue cases were received. Among these reports, 3 cases of dengue imported from travel to an endemic area were confirmed. No cases of local transmission of dengue or chikungunya were reported.
