Health Surveillance of Arboviral Diseases in the Occitanie Region. Epidemiological Update as of August 6, 2021.

From May 1 to November 30 each year, Santé publique France coordinates, in conjunction with the relevant Regional Health Agencies (ARS), enhanced seasonal surveillance of chikungunya, dengue, and Zika in mainland France, where the vector mosquito, Aedes albopictus, is expanding its range.
In Occitanie, since May 1, 2021, 18 imported cases of dengue and 1 case of chikungunya have been confirmed: the dengue cases were returning from Réunion (16), Djibouti (1), and French Guiana (1); the chikungunya case was imported from Senegal.
No cases of Zika have been identified. To limit the risk of local transmission, 21 entomological surveys and 9 vector control treatments were carried out in the vicinity of these cases.
Nationwide, from May 1 to August 6, 2021, the following were confirmed:
109 imported cases of dengue, including 89 from Réunion
3 imported cases of chikungunya
0 imported cases of Zika
