Influenza
Indicators, while still at a high level, are declining, and an epidemic peak was reached in week 51 of 2022.
Oscour® network: visits across all age groups for a diagnosis of influenza/influenza-like illness were down compared to the previous week, throughout the region and across all age groups. In week 01-2023, 441 visits for this diagnosis were recorded, representing 1.6% of all visits (752 visits in week 52-2022). Of these visits, 21.5% resulted in hospitalization. Hospitalizations following visits for influenza/influenza-like illness accounted for 1.7% of total hospitalizations.
SOS Médecins: Consultations for all age groups regarding influenza/influenza-like illness were down compared to the previous week across all associations. In week 01-2023, 550 consultations for this diagnosis were recorded, representing 13.5% of the overall activity of the SOS Médecins associations (627 consultations in week 52-2022).
Sentinelles network: The incidence rate of influenza-like illness cases seen in general practice was 268/100,000 [196; 340], down from the previous week (325/100,000).
Bronchiolitis
Oscour® network: visits and hospitalizations for a diagnosis of bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age were decreasing compared to previous weeks. In week 01-2023, 234 visits for this diagnosis in this age group were recorded, representing 16.5% of visits in this age group (403 visits in week 52-2022). SOS Médecins: the number of cases diagnosed with bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age decreased compared to the previous week. In week 01-2023, 16 cases diagnosed with bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age were recorded, representing 7.0% of the overall activity of SOS Médecins associations in this age group (26 cases in week 52-2022).
Gastroenteritis and Acute Diarrhea
Oscour® network: Gastroenteritis activity was moderate in week 01-2023. Consultations across all age groups for a diagnosis of gastroenteritis were down compared to the previous week, possibly due to a shift in consultations toward primary care. In week 01-2023, 363 visits for gastroenteritis were recorded (including 105 from patients under 5 years of age), representing 1.4% of visits (462 visits in week 52-2022).
SOS Médecins: Gastroenteritis activity was moderate in week 01-2023. Procedures for gastroenteritis diagnoses across all age groups increased compared to the previous week. In week 01-2023, 327 procedures for this diagnosis were recorded (including 34 for patients under 5 years of age, representing 8.0%) of the overall activity of the SOS Médecins associations (195 procedures in week 52-2022).
