According to data available as of August 3, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., 1,508 COVID-19 patients were currently hospitalized in Occitanie, 6.5% (N=98) of whom were in critical care units (intensive care, critical care, and continuous monitoring).
At the regional level and across all age groups, the weekly number of new hospitalizations decreased in week 30 compared to the previous week (478 versus 732, a decrease of 35%). The number of new admissions to critical care units also decreased (64 versus 86, a decrease of 26%).

Monkeypox
196 confirmed cases in Occitanie as of July 28, 2022.
Extreme heat, heat wave
The third heat wave of summer 2022 began in our region on Sunday, July 31 (affecting much of southeastern mainland France) with the issuance of an orange heat wave alert in the departments of Gard and Hérault. Gard had already been affected for an extended period by the previous heat wave, which ended on July 25.
As of 4:00 p.m. on August 4, five departments (Gard, Haute-Garonne, Lot, Tarn, and Tarn-et-Garonne) were still under this heat wave alert level, while the region’s other departments were all experiencing high temperatures.
As of August 4, analysis of regional emergency care visits for heat-related effects (data through August 3, currently being consolidated) did not indicate an unusual increase in such visits during this period, with daily consultation numbers remaining at low levels.
