Key indicators

Virological surveillance:

  • 5,602 positive tests since Week 9, including 907 in S16.

Community-based surveillance

  • SOS Médecins: 793 cases of suspected COVID-19 per 10,000 cases (Week 16*, 1,114 in Week 15*);

  • Sentinelles Network: 123 [64;182] (tele-)consultations for acute respiratory infections per 100,000 inhabitants (Week 16, 148 in Week 15).

*W16/W15: for week 16 (April 13–19, 2020) and week 15 (April 6–12, 2020)

Surveillance in long-term care facilities, including nursing homes

  • 420 reports, 2,100 cases including 139 deaths as of April 20, 2020.

Hospital surveillance

  • Oscour® Network: 483 visits for suspected COVID-19 per 10,000 visits (Week 16, 689 in Week 15);

  • Sentinel intensive care units: 54% of cases aged 65 and older and 73% of cases with at least one risk factor. 82% of cases who died in these units had at least one comorbidity.

Mortality surveillance

  • No excess all-cause mortality (all ages and among those aged 65 and older) observed in S15.
