Combating Healthcare-Associated Infections Under the auspices of the Network for Alert, Investigation, and Surveillance of Healthcare-Associated Infections (RAISIN), a partnership between the French Institute for Public Health Surveillance and the Centers for Coordination of the Fight Against Healthcare-Associated Infections (CClin), a national prevalence survey (ENP) was conducted between May and June 2012 in 1,938 healthcare facilities representing 90.6% of hospital beds in France.The aim of this survey was to measure, on a given day, the number of infected patients, to classify these infections by type of facility, department, site of infection, and causative microorganism, and to describe the antimicrobial treatments prescribed.
