  • Since the beginning of 2012, the National Meningococcal Reference Center has reported 5 cases of IIM caused by W135, either imported or linked to travel to Sub-Saharan Africa (Senegal, Mali, Benin). The strains isolated from these patients belong to the same phenotype. All patients presented with extrameningeal forms (arthritis, pneumonia, etc.). Meningococcal meningitis is endemic and epidemic in all countries of the Sahel region; epidemics occur every year during the dry season from January to May (source: International Weekly Bulletin, March 13, 2012, InVS)

Since the project launched on January 23, 2012, more than 4,300 people have registered with GrippeNet.fr. All departments are participating in the study.   • Gastroenteritis: stable activity in SOS Médecins emergency departments

  • Activity in private practice and hospital emergency departments: stable for SOS Médecins and emergency departments
