Under the auspices of the Network for Alert, Investigation, and Surveillance of Nosocomial Infections (Raisin) and in close partnership with the Coordination Centers for the Control of Nosocomial Infections (Cclin), the InVS is offering all French healthcare facilities a new national survey on the prevalence of nosocomial infections and antimicrobial treatments in 2012. Data collection will take place from May 14 to June 29. The initial results will be available during the fourth quarter of 2012. For more information:

Since the project’s launch on January 23, 2012, more than 4,000 people have registered with GrippeNet.fr. All departments are participating in the study. Trends in indicators for week 08 (February 20–26, 2012)
Flu: ongoing epidemic with an increase in all indicators
Bronchiolitis: activity decreasing
Gastroenteritis: activity stable in emergency departments (increase for children under 5) and slightly decreasing for SOS Médecins
Activity in private practice and hospital emergency departments: stable for SOS Médecins and emergency departments (visits by people aged 75 and older have stabilized)
