Mortality: The number of deaths recorded in November is relatively in line with the figures typically observed during this period.
Emergency room visits by vulnerable populations: Emergency room activity for children under 1 year of age exceeds expected levels, in connection with the bronchiolitis outbreak. It remains stable for those aged 75 and older.
Reportable Diseases (MDO)No unusual situation in December.
Chikungunya and dengue: end of surveillance in Aquitaine
Acute gastroenteritis (AGE)In Aquitaine, activity is stable and close to expected levels. In France, SOS Médecins consultations for gastroenteritis are on the rise across all age groups, most notably among children under 15.
Influenza and influenza-like illnesses: Slight increase in consultations for influenza-like illnesses in outpatient care and hospitals. Influenza activity remains low in mainland France and across Europe.
Bronchiolitis: Start of the bronchiolitis epidemic, with thresholds exceeded in emergency departments and at SOS Médecins. Activity in the AquiRespi network is also intensifying, with 153 cases treated during the last shift.
Enterovirus meningitis and virology: Circulation of seasonal respiratory viruses according to Bordeaux University Hospital, notably RSV and rhinovirus.
Mushroom PoisoningSince July, in Aquitaine, 97 cases according to CAPTV and 17 according to Oscour® (1,180 and 463 in France). Note: particular vigilance is advised regarding the Bidaou species in the region, as consumption can lead to severe symptoms.
Carbon Monoxide Poisoning (Update as of 12/04/14)Since September 2014, there have been 9 episodes of CO poisoning affecting 22 people in Aquitaine. Nationally, reports have continued to rise since mid-October, including 9 deaths from accidental poisoning.
