Key Points

  • Continued increase in vaccination uptake among infants subject to the expanded vaccination mandate:

    • Nearly 90% received a first dose of the meningococcal C vaccine (+4.4 percentage points compared to 2019)

    • 91.6% received the booster dose of the meningococcal C vaccine (+4.4 percentage points compared to 2019)

  • But growth has leveled off for other vaccines:

    • 90.9% received a third dose of the hexavalent vaccine (+0.1 percentage points compared to 2018)

    • 91.4% received a third dose of the pneumococcal vaccine (-0.3 percentage points compared to 2018)

    • 92.6% received a first dose of the MMR vaccine (+0.6 percentage points compared to 2018)

  • Increase in vaccination coverage among children born before the law took effect:

    • Nearly one in two 15-year-old girls has started her HPV vaccination series (49.5% of girls born in 2006), an increase of 6.7 percentage points compared to girls born in 2005 (42.8%)

    • Increase in catch-up vaccination coverage against meningococcal C across all age groups, particularly among 10- to 14-year-olds (60.4% in 2021 vs. 54.0% in 2020)

  • Increase in influenza vaccination coverage compared to the 2019–2020 season

    • 55.1% of the at-risk population was vaccinated against influenza in 2021-22 (+5.5 percentage points compared to 2019-20, but slightly down compared to 2020-21); this coverage reaches 58.7% among people aged 65 and older
