676 cases of arbovirus diseases (including 674 imported cases) reported in Nouvelle-Aquitaine between 2012 and 2021; mostly cases of dengue fever, as well as 2 locally transmitted cases of Zika, transmitted sexually, reported in 2016
Increase in the number of cases in 2014, 2016, 2019, and 2020, linked to arbovirus outbreaks in the French overseas territories
Most cases reported during the enhanced surveillance period, from May to November (59%), with a peak in the number of cases in August
Most cases reported in Gironde (61%) and no cases reported in Creuse between 2012 and 2021
Decrease in the time to reporting during the enhanced surveillance period over the past 10 years (median of 10 days in 2021)
621 municipalities in the region colonized by the tiger mosquito in 2021, representing 13.7% of all municipalities (a tenfold increase in six years)
Vector control measures implemented around cases in departments where a high percentage of the population was exposed to the tiger mosquito: Gironde, Landes, Lot-et-Garonne, and Pyrénées-Atlantiques
