Mental Health in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region. Bimonthly Epidemiological Update, June 28, 2022.
Key Points
Indicators of emergency room visits from the Oscour® network and SOS Médecins associations:
Among adults, visits to emergency departments for mental health issues remain within the usual expected range;
Among children, emergency department visits for mental health issues—which were higher than expected in 2021—do not show any unusual trends in 2022 but remain above the levels observed in 2018–2020;
Visits to emergency departments due to suicidal ideation among those aged 11 and older have remained higher than expected since early 2022, with a sharp increase observed in May, particularly among those under 65.
Other indicators (Oscour® or SOS Médecins) show no notable changes.
