Health Surveillance of Arboviral Diseases in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Epidemiological Update as of September 6, 2021.

In Nouvelle-Aquitaine:

From May 1 to September 3, 2021, out of 23 reported cases, 20 were confirmed, all of which were imported:

  • 19 imported cases of dengue (16 of whom had visited Réunion);

  • 1 imported case of chikungunya;

  • No cases of Zika.

Dengue cases were identified in 6 departments in the region: Charente-Maritime, Gironde, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Deux-Sèvres, Vienne, and Haute-Vienne. For 16 of the 20 confirmed or probable cases reported in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, a mosquito control operator was called in.
In total, 35 investigations were conducted regarding confirmed or probable cases residing in or visiting the region, resulting in two larvicidal treatments (in Corrèze and Gironde) and 14 adulticidal treatments (in Corrèze, Gironde, and Pyrénées-Atlantiques).
