Mortality:
The number of deaths (all ages and those aged 75 and older) recorded at the regional level remains above the alert threshold, with figures typically observed during this period.
Emergency room visits by vulnerable populations
The number of emergency room visits among children under 1 year of age remains high.
Reportable Diseases (MDO)
No significant changes this week in Aquitaine.
Virology and enterovirus
meningitis Circulation of seasonal respiratory viruses according to Bordeaux University Hospital, notably influenza A and coronaviruses; a few cases of enterovirus meningitis (Oscour®, Bordeaux University Hospital).
Acute gastroenteritis (AGE)
In Aquitaine, activity is declining according to the Oscour® network and SOS Médecins. Nationally, activity has decreased in hospitals and primary care; the epidemic threshold has not yet been exceeded for this season.
Influenza and influenza-like illnesses
An influenza epidemic is underway with concurrent circulation of influenza viruses of types A(H1N1) and A(H3N2). Surveillance indicators are decreasing in mainland France, including in Aquitaine, after the influenza epidemic peak was reached in week 07.
Bronchiolitis
Decrease in bronchiolitis activity in France and Aquitaine according to SOS Médecins, Oscour®, and the AquiRespi network, with 68 children treated on March 1–2.
Carbon monoxide poisoning
Since September 2013, 44 incidents reported (+7 in the last 15 days) with 91 people exposed and 65 transported to emergency rooms (France: 931 incidents, 2,727 exposed, 25 deaths).
