Health Surveillance in the Aquitaine Region. Epidemiological Update as of April 30, 2014.

Mortality:
The number of deaths recorded from vital statistics data (all ages and those aged 75 and older) continues to decline slightly, in line with the usual seasonal trend.

Emergency department visits by vulnerable populations
Activity is in line with expectations for those aged 75 and older and those under 1 year of age.

Reportable Diseases (RD)
No particular situation to note since the beginning of April.

Virology and enterovirus
meningitis Nothing in particular to report compared to last week.

Acute gastroenteritis (AGE) Low
activity according to Oscour® and SOS Médecins in Aquitaine as well as nationally.

Bronchiolitis
End of the 2013-14 surveillance period; according to SOS Médecins and Oscour®, the epidemic began in 2013 in week 48 (late November), peaked in week 51 (mid-December), and fell below the epidemic threshold in 2014 in week 5 (late January). Surveillance via the AquiRespi network has also ended. Thanks to all stakeholders.
