COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Nouvelle-Aquitaine as of June 24, 2021

Key Points

The circulation of SARS-CoV-2 is decreasing in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, with an incidence rate below the alert threshold of 50 per 100,000 inhabitants for the past two weeks.

In week 24 of 2021, 1,237 new cases were confirmed in the region. The number of new cases has been declining for the past four weeks.
Both the incidence and positivity rates have decreased compared to the previous week.

The incidence rate is 20.6 per 100,000 inhabitants (compared to 33.1 per 100,000 inhabitants in week 23); it has been below the alert threshold for the second consecutive week.

The positivity rate remains below the 5.0% attention threshold, standing at 0.9% (compared to 1.3% in week 23). Among asymptomatic individuals, this rate is 0.6%, compared to 5.7% among symptomatic individuals.

The regional testing rate decreased in week 24 and stood at 2,287 per 100,000 residents (compared to 2,638 per 100,000 residents in week 23).
