  • As of September 25, 2025, in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, 16 episodes of local transmission of chikungunya have been identified: 1 in Charente (15 cases), 4 in Charente-Maritime (8 cases in total), 1 in Corrèze (9 cases), 2 in Dordogne (87 cases), 3 in Gironde (5 cases), 2 in Landes (2 cases), 1 in Pyrénées-Atlantiques (3 cases), 1 in Deux-Sèvres (1 case), and one case exposed in both Charente-Maritime and Gironde

  • An episode of local dengue transmission identified in Gironde (3 cases detected as of September 25, 2025)

  • Investigations, management, and prevention measures are underway

Summary of imported cases

  • From May 1 to September 22, 2025, 150 imported cases of chikungunya and 116 imported cases of dengue identified as probable or confirmed, and no imported cases of Zika

  • Most individuals returning from a stay in the French overseas territories
