Health Surveillance of Bronchiolitis in Upper and Lower Normandy. Update as of April 23, 2015.

Situation in Lower and Upper Normandy

A general review of the indicators shows that activity related to seasonal bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age in Lower Normandy and Upper Normandy continues to decline in both hospital and outpatient settings across both regions, following a slight uptick in activity in March across all indicators. The bronchiolitis epidemic now appears to be coming to an end, and all monitored indicators are now trending back toward baseline levels observed outside of epidemic periods, consistent with what is typically observed in both regions at this time of year. This epidemiological update on bronchiolitis surveillance in infants is the last of the 2014/2015 winter season. However, the Cire Normandie continues to monitor these indicators for both regions. A summary of the winter surveillance will be sent to you shortly by the Cire Normandie team.
